Inserm
Inserm is the only French public organisation that is totally dedicated to
biological, medical and public health research. Its researchers are devoted
to learn all about human diseases – frequent and rare ones. From Biology to
health, Inserm has all the necessary dimensions to form their field of competence
– basic, clinical and public health – and owes its dynamics to the continuity. In each of the areas a high level of quality and ethical standard is maintained. Our mission is to improve our understanding of diseases and reducing the period of time until the knowledge gain through research becomes beneficial for the patients, the medical world and the partners, both national and international.
The research from cell to organism expands over three dimensions:
- Basic research: from cell function to the functioning of the human body
- Clinical research, with healthy and ill patient to test new procedures in diagnosis
and therapy
- Public health research: the goal is to elucidate the impact of the life style,
environment, genetic factors, biological and socio economic actors on health –
physical and mental.
